Irish robots for Dutch warehouses
Thursday November 22nd Dutch logistics specialist Costo signed a partnership agreement with the Irish technology company Eiratech Robotics, a leader in the field of robotic systems. The collaboration will enable many companies to deploy robots in their order picking process.
Costo develops creative and customized solutions for storage, transportation and order picking. The Gorinchem-based company builds these systems into all kinds of intralogistic processes, including the e-commerce and warehousing sector. Thanks to a combination of smart robots, pick stations, racks and the Eiratech Robotics' control system, that process can now be optimised when the solution is applied in the right warehouse. After all, speed is essential in times when consumers expect online ordered products to be delivered within 24 hours.
Six times more picks per hour
Seventy percent of order picking time is wasted by walking and fetching goods. The Eiratech Eirabot, a robot controlled by a wireless network, can reduce that wasted time and multiplies the number of picks per hour in comparison to conventional systems. A revolution in the logistics process.
Costo partner for the Benelux
The deal makes Costo partner for the Eiratech Robotics' products in the Benelux and the cooperation also offers the Irish company opportunities within Germany.
Patrick Torrekens, is Director of Enterprise Ireland Benelux, a trade agency that supports Irish companies. He explains: "We are delighted with this deal between our client Eiratech Robotics and logistics specialist Costo. A great Irish innovation finds its way into markets that are leaders in the field of warehousing and distribution and where there is a great need for optimizing logistics processes."
Alexey Tabolkin, CEO of Eiratech, and Alarik Lens van Rijn, General Manager of Costo, shake hands after signing.
